Monday, July 16 – 9:30-1:00

Vivian Hoette (Yerkes Observatory) will give a WebEx demo of SkyNet and we will request images.

Please read the Gamma Ray Scope Document, found in Course Documents.


Tuesday, July 17 – 9:30-12:30

As a group we will begin reading through our 4 gamma ray astronomy lessons: history, science, tools, and impact.

Christie will review the MWA site digital library plans and demonstrate SOAR, CPS’s integrated library system.

 

Wednesday, July 18 – 9:30-1:30

Continuation of lesson reading (tools and impact).

At 11:45 we will adjourn to the Quadrangle Club to make a short presentation about our work to the principals and CUIP staff gathered there for a retreat, and we will stay for lunch.

 

Thursday, July 19 – 1:00-4:00

Don York will talk about the Sloan Digital Sky Survey and spectroscopy.

 

Friday, July 20 – 9:30-4:30

Processing of SkyNet images with Vivian Hoette.

Review of standards

We will go through the course Moodle to identify links/resources/activities you would like to use with your students as well as those you think would be useful to share with colleagues.
